On 16th to 18th October Martin Popr (Head of the compound management and automation at CZ-OS) will be presenting a talk at the SLAS 2024 Sample Management Symposium in Toulouse, France. The event is taking place at the Evotec Curie Campus. The symposium is focused on the recent progress in the field of Compound/Sample Management and gathers participants from both industry and academia who are interested or involved in maintaining large collections of chemical and biological samples.
Title of the oral presentation: Integrated Compound Management In Academia. The talk will be given as part of the Innovation track session on 18th of October at 11:30 AM. The presentation will focus on the introduction of technological and computational bases of the compound management at CZ-OS, highlighting the essential role of advanced chem- and bio-informatic tools which support all the stages of compound management task and biological activity testing.
In the research area of life sciences, it is essential to keep pace with the technological innovations and monitor what the market has to offer. This is why in May we've visited the SLAS Europe 2024 Conference and Exhibition in Barcelona, Spain organized by the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening. The event focused on recent advancements in the field of laboratory automation and screening and consist of a conference part where the scientific program is presented and an exhibition where the major vendors present the new technology and instrumentation. Martin Popr presented the poster entitled: Automated Compound Management Pipeline At The CZ-OPENSCREEN which was included in the Frontiers in Technology session at this conference.
Next week, we will attend the ELRIG´S THERAPEUTIC OLIGOS & EUROPEAN CHEMICAL BIOLOGY SYMPOSIUM 2023 (ECBS2023) in Gothenburg, Sweden, co-organized by ELRIG and EU-OPENSCREEN/EuChemS, and hosted by AstraZeneca R&D site. The conference will focus on topics like Therapeutic OLIGO profiling, Advancements in OLIGO design and synthesis, Novel formulations and biomarker analysis, Chemical probe-induced protein interaction and degradation, New ways to shape and interrogate biology through chemistry, and innovative tools and methods for advanced cell profiling.
We will present one talk and two posters at the conference. The talk with the title Identification of novel inducers of erythropoiesis by high-content screening will be presented by Petr Bartůněk, the director of CZ-OS, on Thursday afternoon, as a part of the Innovative tools and methods for advanced cell profiling section. Concerning the posters, the first one was created by Martin Popr, the head of the compound management and automation at CZ-OS, and describes our AUTOMATED COMPOUND MANAGEMENT PIPELINE AT THE CZ-OPENSCREEN; the second one, by Ctibor Škuta, the head of the cheminformatics and software development, presents the European Chemical Biology Database (ECBD, ecbd.eu), developed and managed by CZ-OS, and its state in 2023.
