As part of the EU-OPENSCREEN Staff Exchange Programme, we had the pleasure of hosting Marcin Śleszyński from POL-OPENSCREEN at CZ-OPENSCREEN. During his visit, we exchanged knowledge and experience on compound logistics, library management, cheminformatics support, and workflows for chemical compound management. Marcin also shared insights into the equipment and workflows used at POL-OPENSCREEN and the National Library of Chemical Compounds (NLCC).
It was a highly productive exchange, providing a great opportunity to discuss different approaches, share experiences, and gain a better understanding of each other's workflows and infrastructure.

Celebrating two roles within EU-OPENSCREEN

We are delighted to share that CZ-OPENSCREEN, Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, has received two plaques recognizing its roles within the EU-OPENSCREEN ERIC network – as an official Partner Site and a Database Partner Site.
These two recognitions reflect two complementary aspects of our contribution to the European chemical biology community. As a Partner Site, CZ-OPENSCREEN provides expertise, technology, and infrastructure to support chemical biology and high-throughput screening projects, while also being part of a European network that connects researchers, facilities, and expertise across borders.
As a Database Partner Site, our team develops and supports the European Chemical Biology Database (ECBD) – the central data hub for data generated within the EU-OPENSCREEN network. Developed at CZ-OPENSCREEN, ECBD supports the curation, annotation, organization, and analysis of screening data, adheres to FAIR principles, and enables the scientific community to discover, access, and reuse the data.
We are proud that our contribution to EU-OPENSCREEN spans from experimental infrastructure to the digital infrastructure that connects and preserves the knowledge generated across the network.
A big thank you to all colleagues whose expertise and dedication make these contributions possible, and to EU-OPENSCREEN ERIC for recognizing our two roles within the network. We look forward to continuing to strengthen European collaboration in chemical biology and to supporting open, high-quality and reusable research data.
Call for User Projects

CZ-OPENSCREEN National Infrastructure for Chemical Biology has launched a new Call for User Project Support for academic researchers working in chemical biology and early-stage drug discovery. Through dedicated funding programs, users can access high-throughput screening technologies, advanced biological assays, and a chemical library of more than 200,000 compounds. Researchers from the Czech Republic and abroad are invited to submit innovative projects with strong scientific potential. The call is open from 5 May to 5 June 2026, with results announced on 30 June 2026. More information is available on the main page.
